Because I Said So! 4.02.2016

[This episode originally aired 4.02.2016]

  • Why don't kids play outside anymore? Today's child is more often than not micromanaged and overscheduled from morning until night, and the traditional idea of childhood is rapidly disappearing in America as a result. In this episode, John contends that nearly 100% of the after school activities that your children are involved in will be meaningless and irrelevant to anything they are doing when they are 30 years old. He says to let children be children again, the way they were in a not-so-long time here in America.
  • John spends the second segment discussing the current trend of parents talking to their children about their feelings. He cautions parents to use discernment when talking to their children about their feelings lest they give validity to the often irrational thoughts, feelings, and fears of a child.
